Challah
***Makes 1 Challah
Dough
1/2 Cup Lukewarm Water
1 Packet Active Dry Yeast (.25 Oz)
1/3 Cup + 1 Tsp. Sugar
4 Cups All Purpose Flour
2 Tsp. Kosher Salt
1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
3 Eggs
Olive Oil

Egg Wash
1 Egg
2 Tsp. Water
1 Tsp. Sugar
-In a small bowl, combine water, yeast, and Tsp. of sugar and let rest until foamy
-In a bowl, add flour, rest of sugar, salt and whisk to combine
-Add yeast, oil, and eggs, mixing until you get clumps or a dough consistency
-On a floured surface knead for 5 minutes until your dough softens
-Place the dough in a greased bowl (olive oil) and cover
-Let rise for about 1-2 hours or until the dough has doubled in size
-Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
-On a floured surface, divide your dough into 3 pieces
-Roll each piece into a 20 inch rope, 1 inch thick
-Throw all 3 ropes on your baking dish and pinch the tops of one end together
-Braid your 3 ropes!
-Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour
-Mix your second set of ingredients and brush over your "pre-baked" challah
-Bake for 25 minutes at 350º Fahrenheit until your challah is golden
-Let cool and enjoy!

-Combine ingredients
-Toss over your ropes of dough before you braid them together
-Sprinkle on after you brush the challah with egg wash
